sports photography awards
The Sports Journalists’ Association is delighted that Canon UK is continuing to support the British Sports Photography Awards with sponsorship of two key awards and the photographic exhibition at the event.
Canon have not only been an amazing backer of the SJA and our awards but have been a strong supporter of young people trying to break into the industry.
Since Canon have been a sponsor of the SJA awards we have introduced the Young Sports Photographer of the year award and more recently have set-up a Young Sports Photographers gallery, a monthly opportunity for young sports photographers to send in their best pictures from the month and have their work promoted and celebrated through the SJA's website and social channels.
There are 7 categories across sports photography. The Canon Sports Photographer of the Year is awarded to the photographer who, in the opinion of the judges, has been the overall best sports photographer of the year and has demonstrated an outstanding range of photographic skills. This will be judged on submitted entries into the other 6 categories. All other categories are subject to entered submissions which are put before our panel of judges.
